Shedding Light on Candles

Let’s shed some light on candles really quickly! The air in our homes is more polluted than the outdoors. Crazy right? Did you know we can purify the air with essential oils and that burning a candle does the opposite of that? And guess what, oils smell good and purify the air. They work overtime.

Studies show that toxins released by candles are as dangerous as second hand smoke. You are the gatekeeper, diffusers over candles. All day, everyday!

Many candles contain the following:

• Paraffin (a petroleum waste product)

• Benzene (which has been linked to leukemia)

• Toluene (which disrupts the nervous system)

"Fragrance" is used as an umbrella term to cover over 100 toxic ingredients that are protected as "trade scent"

These ingredients have been linked to allergies, hormone disruption, asthma, triggers neurotoxicity and carcinogenicity.

Some brands market "natural" products, but have just been what we call "greenwashed". The marketing language has been manipulated to make it appear more "green", but it really only goes as far as the label on the bottle.

Our sense of smell is powerful. It can even rewire our brain. Diffusing pure essential oils lets us enjoy these benefits in the purest way possible.

Diffusing breaks the drops of oils into millions of molecules that get dispersed through the air. This lets us inhale them throughout the day and benefit from their powerful properties.

You can replicate your favorite "candle scents" using essential oils and reap the therapeutic benefits.

Can diffusing be cheaper than candles?
